Nosing Option & Stair Type

1. Nosing With Insert

100 x 40 x 1800mm

Mitered nosing with brass, silver, black, white, ivory, brown or beige insert for mitre protection. Available in all colours and ranges. The brass, silver, black or white ivory, brown or beige insert nosings come in slightly longer lengths than 1800mm, but only 1800mm is usable due to the length of the inserts. These nosings are designed to be cut to size on site.

2. Nosing With Insert and Return

100 x 40 x 1800mm / Return to be same thickness as the specified board

3. Premium Nosing

Our premium nosing is a solid-machined option with a softly rounded front edge for a timeless look. Available across Woodcut’s colour range, it delivers a seamless connection between the tread and flooring while highlighting the natural character of the timber. It’s a popular choice for those who want a subtle yet elegant finish.

4. Nosing, Tread, and Riser With Exposed Side

Used to create a waterfall effect to one side of the stairs. 15mm return on the exposed side of stairs. Waterfall boards are manufactured off-site and may incur a tolerance of up to 1mm per board. Please note that the waterfall (side) edge only has a return on the vertical face and therefore is designed to be flush with the side of a staircase and does not overhang.

5. Premium Tread

Fully supported treads that can be screwed onto staircase stringers & plates. Structural LVL or KDHW core wrapped with Woodcut on all sides. Max width 300mm. Max length 1200mm. 77mm total thickness as standard however can be varied to 64-80mm total thickness as required.

6. Floating Tread

Perfect for architectural statement stairs, this option is designed for cantilevered or “floating” staircases that appear suspended in the air. The floating tread incorporates mitred nosing with an insert for durability and a striking modern look. It’s a favourite among designers seeking an elegant, contemporary staircase feature.

7. Timber Sleeve (Floating Tread)

Used when there is a cantilevered beam coming out of the wall or when there is an existing structural tread that needs to be cladded between two stringers.
