Woodcut imports our own 4-in-1, VOC-free adhesive, which also acts as a moisture barrier, crack suppression and acoustic barrier. It eliminates the need for a traditional dual bond installation and roll on moisture barrier. Woodcut offers engineered, machined nosings along with stair nosing with brass or silver inserts for mitre protection. When Woodcut says ‘hand-selected’, Woodcut means ‘hand selected’. Every Woodcut board is inspected prior to packaging in terms of grading, structure and stability. Woodcut boards have their own unique grain structure, knot size and fillers used to compliment each product. Our grading is much higher than others, and our standard of NATURAL GRADE is someone else’s standard of CLEAN GRADE. Woodcut floors can be installed over an underfloor heating system, provided the correct installation method and product is used. All coatings by Woodcut are designed to be cured by a UV light, which crystallises the oil or lacquer and forms extra protection on the boards. Woodcut uses a sawn cut extraction method when extracting the veneer from the logs, which does not degrade the quality of the veneer, as opposed to a sliced cut veneer. In a sliced cut veneer, the timber is softened by boiling it, and peeling the veneers off using a slicer. As a result, we would never use this method because you have degraded the quality of the veneer by exposing it to boiling water. Slice cutting is a cost saving exercise as you are making the timber softer so you can peel it off.
